NASHVILLE, Tenn. – San Diego continued to build momentum, earning its second consecutive victory, 1-0, Thursday night at Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
Reuben Dass scored his first goal of the season in the 68th minute to secure the match for the Toreros (2-2-1) over the Bisons (1-3). Dass beat his defender down the right side and tucked one inside the left post to give USD the advantage.
It was a physical defensive battle for most of the contest. The teams traded shots early to start the match, but were scoreless at halftime.
The Bisons outshot the Toreros, 11-7, but the Torero defense remained strong with a total of five saves. Goalkeeper
Matt Wiher made three saves in goal. The Lipscomb offense applied pressure late in the second half but Wiher held them off for the win.
San Diego will remain in Nashville to take on Belmont, Saturday at 10 a.m. (PT).
