The Toreros (8-6, 1-2 WCC) will look to bounce back against the Waves (7-6, 1-2 WCC) after falling in a tough battle with LMU, 69-52, on Thursday night. Â

Madison Pollock tied her season high, scoring 20 points but it was not enough as San Diego fell to Loyola Marymount, 69-52 on Thursday night in the JCP.

•After a tightly contest three quarters of play where neither team led by more than seven, the Lions outscored the Toreros 26-16 in the final period to secure the win over USD.

•Pollock paced the Toreros with 20 points and seven rebounds, while
Sydney Hunter chipped in 12 points and a team-high three steals.Â

Myah Pace finished with six points apiece and Brossmann added five rebounds, while Pace led the team with four assists.

•San Diego held a slight 16-14 advantage in points off of turnovers while LMU dominated in the paint 44-26. The Lions won the rebound battle, collecting 39 boards compared to San Diego's 32.

•The Lions were led by Chelsey Gipson who finished with 26 points—including all of LMU's points behind the arc—and Gabby Green who finished with team highs in rebounds (9), assists (5) and steals (4) in addition to her 18 points.Â

•USD struggled from behind the arc, hitting 2-of-13 from three-point range while LMU finished 3-of-7, with all three buckets coming in the fourth quarter to cement the victory.

• The Waves lead the all-time series 42-34 over the Toreros. San Diego split the series last year with Pepperdine, falling in the first matchup 66-62 before securing a 79-53 victory later in the season.
