SAN DIEGO— San Diego will travel north to take on Saint Mary's and Pacific this weekend in its third conference series.
Â
The Toreros (8-7, 1-3 WCC) will look to bounce back after a tough 0-2 home series last weekend against LMU and Pepperdine. USD will face the Gaels (8-6, 1-2 WCC) on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. PT before taking on the Tigers (9-4, 2-1 WCC) on Saturday at 2 p.m. PT.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Toreros suffered two tough losses in their WCC home-opening series last weekend. USD fell to Loyola Marymount, 69-52, before Pepperdine topped the Toreros, 74-55.Â

Madison Pollock tied her season high, scoring 20 points but it was not enough in San Diego's 69-52 loss to LMU on Thursday night.

•After a tightly contest three quarters of play where neither team led by more than seven, the Lions outscored the Toreros 26-16 in the final period to secure the win over USD.

•Pollock paced the Toreros with 20 points and seven rebounds, while
Sydney Hunter chipped in 12 points and a team-high three steals.
Patricia Brossmann and
Myah Pace finished with six points apiece and Brossmann added five rebounds, while Pace led the team with four assists.

•The Lions were led by Chelsey Gipson who finished with 26 points—including all of LMU's points behind the arc—and Gabby Green who finished with team highs in rebounds (9), assists (5) and steals (4) in addition to her 18 points.

•San Diego held a slight 16-14 advantage in points off of turnovers while LMU dominated in the paint 44-26. The Lions won the rebound battle, collecting 39 boards compared to San Diego's 32.Â

•USD struggled from behind the arc, hitting 2-of-13 from three-point range while LMU finished 3-of-7, with all three buckets coming in the fourth quarter to cement the victory.

Patricia Brossmann recorded her fifth double-double of the season in a 74-55 loss to Pepperdine on Saturday.

•The Toreros were undone by dominant third quarter by the Waves in which Pepperdine outscored USD, 19-4. San Diego's offense struggled in the period, shooting just 1-for-10 from the field and committing nine turnovers.Â

•The Waves outscored USD 19-4 in the period on 9-of-17 shooting to take a 20-point lead into the fourth quarter and never looked back.

•Brossmann led the team with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while
Madison Pollock added 12 points and seven rebounds.
Sydney Hunter chipped in 10 points and five rebounds while
Sydney Shepard had a team-high five assists.

•The Toreros struggled from three-point range, knocking down just 1-of-10 while Pepperdine finished 4-of-9 and dominated points off of turnovers 25-16.Â

•Pepperdine saw solid production from their bench with 20 points to the Toreros' 10, and shot 52 percent from the field on the night.

• The Gaels lead the all-time series with the Toreros 46-28. San Diego went 0-2 against SMC last season, falling 75-53 and 66-57.

• The Toreros lead the all-time series 16-5 against the Tigers. USD dropped both regular season contests with Pacific last season (81-68 and 62-60) before defeating the Tigers 66-56 in the WCC Tournament semifinal.Â

Patricia Brossmann has established herself as a top performer for the Toreros this season. She leads the team in points (12.2 avg), rebounds (7.9 avg) and has a team-high five double-doubles this season.

• Brossmann is currently averaging 12.2 points per game with a 53.0 field-goal percentage which ranks fifth in the WCC. She also ranks top-10 in the conference for rebounding (4th) and steals (10th) with 24 steals (1.7 avg).

Myah Pace leads the team in assists, averaging 4.8per game which ranks first in the conference. Pace is first on the team in steals (25 total, 1.8 avg) which ranks ninth in the conference. She also ranks top-10 in the conference with a 75.5 free-throw percentage, hitting 40-of-53 to rank ninth.
