The Toreros (11-4, 4-0 WCC) hit a blazing .473 as a team and took down the Gaels (4-9, 0-3 WCC) in straight sets (25-20, 25-16, 26-14) for their ninth sweep of the season.

Thana Fayad paced the Toreros offensively hitting .550 with a match-high 12 kills, while Roxie Wiblin hit. 625 and recorded 11 kills. Katie Lukes and Grace Frohling added nine kills and seven kills respectively.

The Gaels pulled within one at 15-16 but USD shut down the rally with a kill by Turner followed by back-to-back aces from Wiblin. USD maintained the lead down the stretch to take the first set 25-20.

SMC built a 12-8 lead in the second set before a 4-0 run by the Toreros pulled the teams even at 12-all. Back-to-back kills by Fayad put USD back out in front 16-14, and the Toreros closed on a 9-1 run including five-straight kills to take the set 25-16.

The third set remained tightly contested until an 8-1 run gave the Toreros a 20-11 lead. During the mid-set run, Fayad was responsible for five of USD's eight points, collecting two solo blocks and three kills. With a comfortable lead, the Toreros closed out the final set 25-14.
