SAN DIEGO - The Toreros signed eight players to NLIs on Monday as announced by head coach
Jessica Pistole. This marks Pistole's first class of signees as San Diego's head coach.

The Class of 2024 includes three pitchers, two infielders and three outfielders. Five California natives will join the Toreros in Amanda Limon, Alexia Torculas, Katlin Etrup, Faith Hernandez, and Sofia Delgado. McKenna Braegelmann, Tyra Clary, and Alysa Micone round out the class hailing from Washington and Nevada.

A native of Covina, Calif., Limon prepped at Charter Oak as a dual sport athlete playing volleyball and softball. The middle infielder boasts around a .820 fielding percentage in her career and has been dynamic at the plate creating a high amount of on-base opportunities.

Pistole on Amanda Limon… "Amanda, 'Shorty', will be a spark plug that will add more consistency to our middle infield. She has great hands, range and is versatile at the plate bringing a high-level experience."

Torculas is the sole junior college transfer in the Class of 2024 playing at Monterey Peninsula College for two seasons. The outfielder has served as team captain and leads the team in six different offensive categories, including home runs and RBIs. Torculas was a multi-sport athlete in high school playing soccer and water polo as well.

Pistole on Alexia Torculas… "Lex will bring power, speed and experience. She approaches the game with a fierce mentality and will make an immediate impact as we take our program to the next level."

The first of three pitchers in the class, Entrup joins the Toreros from Claremont, Calif. Prepping at Claremont High School, the right hander has pitched over 120 innings in her scholastic career. Entrup is solid defensively in the circle boasting a .969 fielding percentage.

Pistole on Katlin Entrup… "Katlin will bring great enthusiasm and determination to our pitching staff. She has the ability to throw the ball to all zones and loves to keep batters off-balance."

Hernandez prepped at Turlock High School and has been recognized for her work in and out of the classroom. Hernandez received the Academic Scholar Award the past two years as a sophomore and junior. The Oakdale, Calif. native earned All-League first team honors last season, leading her team in on base percentage and slugging percentage.

Pistole on Faith Hernandez… "Faith is a crafty offensive threat who brings speed and energy to the plate. She also will contribute in the outfield with a strong arm and the ability to track down balls quickly."

Middle infielder Delgado prepped at Bonita High School. The La Verne, Calif. native has played three seasons of varsity softball, posting a .359 batting average and .406 on base percentage. Delgado has seen almost 80 games of action in her scholastic career recording 92 hits and 38 RBIs.

Pistole on Sofia Delgado… "Sofia brings strong defensive skills, a gritty work ethic and the ability to play multiple positions for us. Her experience in a top program and her drive to improve will be a key factor in elevating USD Softball."

A Tacoma, Wash. native, Braegelmann, prepped at Stadium High School. The left-handed pitcher has seen over 200 innings of action and was awarded the Max Preps/NFCA Player of the Week in 2018-19. The left hander has also been potent at the plate during her scholastic career with a .533 batting average.

Pistole on McKenna Braegelmann… "McKenna is an extremely hard-working pitcher that will pound her craft day in and day out. She spins the ball very well and has the ability to attack batters with several different pitches"

Clary prepped at Spanish Springs High School as a dual sport athlete in basketball and softball. The Sparks, Nev. Native has posted a 1.71 ERA during three varsity seasons, tallying 60 wins so far in her career.

Clary was named the 2019 NIAA 4A Northern Most Valuable Player and a 2018 Max Preps National High School All-American. She is also the 2017 and 2018 NIAA 4A Pitcher of the Year.

Pistole on Clary… "Tyra is a fierce competitor, who brings a strong desire to win from the circle. She is committed to what it takes to be successful on and off the field and has faced many high-level batters already in her career."

Micone also joins San Diego from Nevada prepping at the same school as Clary, Spanish Springs. Micone was a dual-sport athlete participating in volleyball and softball. The Reno, Nevada native has registered a .500 on base percentage in her career so far.

A dynamic hitter Micone has recorded 73 hits and 43 RBIs in her scholastic career.
