SAN DIEGO - Coming off an 81-67 victory against Towson, San Diego women's basketball is set to take on Air Force on the road on Saturday.

The contest marks San Diego's first road game of the 2019-20 season. The Falcons are coming off a 68-66 loss to Army West Point on Wednesday. Air Force created a 21 point lead with one minute left in the first half, but the Black Knights came out hot in the third quarter to reel in the Falcons for the win.

• San Diego returns four starters for 2019-20 in

Leticia Soares were USD's top three scorers last season, averaging 11.4, 11.2, and 10.3 points per game. Brossmann led the team with 7.6 rebounds per game.

• The 2018-19 season ended in the first round of the WCC Tournament with a 63-59 loss to Santa Clara to bring San Diego's overall record to 9-21. This marked only the third losing season in head coach
Cindy Fisher's tenure at San Diego.

• The Toreros led for a majority of the contest before the Broncos went on a 15-1 run beginning at the end of the third period to take the lead. San Diego shot 33 percent from the floor and outscored the Broncos 17-4 in second chance points. The Toreros won the rebound battle 44-36 including 17 offensive boards.

• San Diego suffered multiple injuries during the 2018-19 season with six athletes lost to injury throughout the campaign.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST AIR FORCE
• This game marks the fourth meeting between San Diego and Air Force and the first since the 2012-13 season. USD owns the all-time series at 3-0.

ROAD OPENERS
• The Toreros are 4-1 in their season openers over the past five seasons. San Diego has only lost one road opener at Southern Utah in the 2018-19 season.

LEADING THE WAY
• San Diego returns four seniors and two juniors this season providing deep upperclassman experience. Redshirt junior
Jordyn Edwards will also provide experience for the Toreros after sitting out for her redshirt season in 2018-19.

Myah Pace has been potent for San Diego, recording a new career high in points in the first contest of the regular season. Pace led the team in assists in 2018-19 before ending the season early due to injury.

FRESH FACES
• The Toreros will feature a talented freshmen duo this season with the additions of
Amanda Olinger (6-3 forward; Chatsworth, Calif.) and
Ayanna Khalfani (5-11 guard; Woodland Hills, Calif.).

COACHING STAFF CHANGES
• Coach Fisher welcomed
Jasmin Holliday as a new addition to the San Diego coaching staff, replacing Mery Andrade who left for an assistant coaching position with the Erie Bayhawks in the NBA G League.

• Prior to USD, Holliday served as an assistant coach at LMU for four seasons. She spent one season each as a graduate assistant, administrative assistant, director of operations and assistant coach.

• Holliday played collegiate basketball at Oregon from 2008-12, finishing her career among the Ducks' top-10 in career games, steals and blocks.
