SAN DIEGO - The Toreros are set to host Monmouth, Texas Tech and Purdue Fort Wayne for the San Diego Thanksgiving Tournament.
San Diego will open the tournament on Friday at 2 p.m. (PT) with a matchup against Monmouth.
All contests will be live streamed, and live statistics will be provided via USDToreros.com. Fans can purchase tickets to either game on Friday or Saturday and receive free admission for the second contest.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Toreros dropped their first contest of the 2019-20 season in a 88-82 loss on the road to San Jose State.
• For the fourth straight contest, four players recorded double figures, led by senior
Madison Pollock who had 17 points and six rebounds.
Patricia Brossmann added 15 points and seven rebounds, while
Leticia Soares also chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds.
• San Diego's bench played a huge role in its offensive production with a 29-point performance on the afternoon.

Myah Pace led the way on defense with four steals in the game. San Diego forced 24 turnovers in the contest, turning the takeaways into 29 points on the offensive end of the floor.
• The Toreros led at the half with a 52-45 edge after scoring 16 of 31 points in the first quarter in the paint. The Spartans came out swinging in the third to put the Toreros down by four entering the fourth quarter.
• A block by
Jordyn Edwards looked to shift the momentum early in the fourth as the Toreros came within two with eight minutes remaining. Soares hit a jumper in the paint to put San Diego within three with a minute to go, but San Jose State secured the win, 88-82.
SAN DIEGO THANKSGIVING TOURNAMENT
• The Toreros are set to host the San Diego Thanksgiving Tournament for the third time in program history.
• Last season, San Diego won its opening matchup against Cleveland State, 83-82. The Toreros held off a late surge by the Vikings in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
• Five players put up double-digits in the contest led by Brossmann with 20 points and 8 rebounds.
Myah Pace (16),
Sydney Shepard (14), Pollock (13) and Soares (11) all contributed to USD's highest scoring game so far on the year.
• San Diego then faced No. 18 California in a top 25 matchup, losing to the Golden Bears 70-53. Pollock paced USD with 19 points in the contest, and Hunter added 13 points on the afternoon.
• This year the Toreros will open the tournament with a matchup against Monmouth on November 29 at 2 p.m. (PT). Texas Tech and Purdue Fort Wayne will take the floor for a matchup at 4:30 p.m. (PT).
• If win, San Diego will face the winner of the Red Raiders and Mastodons at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Should the Toreros lose to Monmouth, they will be slated for the 2 p.m. contest on Saturday.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST MONMOUTH
• This game marks only the second meeting between the Toreros and Hawks. This will be the first meeting this decade as the teams faced off in the 1989-90 season, where San Diego pulled way with a 81-51 victory.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST TEXAS TECH
• A matchup between the Red Raiders and the Toreros would mark the fifth all-time meeting between the two teams. Texas Tech owns the all-time series against San Diego 4-1.
• The contest would mark the first meeting since the 2011-2012 season, where USD won 60-51 in the WNIT Sweet 16. The Toreros went on to the WNIT Final Four before losing to Oklahoma State 73-57.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST PURDUE FORT WAYNE
• A matchup between Purdue Fort Wayne and San Diego would be the first ever in program history.
SENIORS LEADING THE WAY
• Two players emerged for San Diego over the past week in
Madison Pollock and
Patricia Brossmann as the seniors recorded new season-highs against San Jose State and Biola.
• Pollock came in off the bench on Saturday afternoon to led USD's offense with 17 points. The guard is now averaging 11.8 points per game, tying
Myah Pace for the team's offensive leader.
• Brossmann exploded in the contest versus Biola recording the first double-double of the season. The forward led San Diego with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Brossmann has dominated the glass in four games averaging 9.5 rebounds per game, a team high.
• The duo has split starting roles in San Diego's fourth and fifth spot and have come up big in the substitution rotations. Pollock is averaging 22.7 minutes per game, while Brossmann is averaging 30.9 minutes.
BENCH PRODUCTION
• San Diego has seen valuable production from its bench in all four contests this season. The Toreros are averaging 30.5 points per game from the bench, with a season high 49 points coming against Biola.
