SAN DIEGO - San Diego women's basketball will close out nonconference play on Saturday afternoon as they take on CSUN inside the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

CSUN is coming off a 76-55 loss against Santa Clara. The Broncos outrebounded the Matadors 50-46 as Santa Clara held CSUN to 28.4 percent from the field.

LAST TIME OUT
• The Toreros stumbled against Washington, losing 65-47.
• San Diego couldn't find offensive rhythm in the contest shooting only 28.6 percent from the field and 12.5 from beyond the arc.
•
Myah Pace was the offensive bright spot as the junior guard recorded 19 points on the afternoon for a new career high.
Patricia Brossmann also recorded double figures with 12 points and six rebounds off the bench.
• San Diego's defense worked to limit the Huskies as Washington shot only 39 percent from the field, including 29.2 percent from three. The defense also forced 20 turnovers in the contest.
• Cold shooting caused San Diego to struggle out of the gate who faced a 43-21 halftime deficit. The Toreros narrowed the gap in the fourth but couldn't pull any closer.

GUARD PRODUCTION
• San Diego's guards have been leading the offensive efforts this season with three rising to be the team's top scorers.
• Junior guard Pace has produced in big moments coming through with multiple double figure performances on the year. Pace carried the Toreros offense against Washington going 7-15 from the field.
• Pace leads the team in points per game with 12.0, assists (37) and steals (37).
• Behind Pace, guards
Madison Pollock and
Jordyn Edwards have been key pieces for San Diego.
• Pollock ranks second on the team in points per game (10.6) and rebounds per game (6.3). She is the only Torero to record multiple double-double performances on the year and is averaging 27 minutes per game.
• Redshirt junior Edwards saw a marquee performance against Cal State Fullerton putting up 22 points in the contest. Edwards is averaging 9.6 points per game to rank third on the team and is right behind Pace in assists with 34 on the year.
• All three guards are also averaging over .650 free throw shooting percentage and have seen at least 25 attempts on the year.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST CSUN
• The Toreros own the all-time series against the Matadors at 15-4. San Diego is currently on a seven-game winning streak in the series.
• This marks the first meeting since the 2016-17 season between the two teams as USD won on the road 76-67.

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BALL
• The Toreros have established themselves as a productive defensive team this season limiting eight out of 10 opponents to score in the 60's or less.
• Pace and Edwards have risen to be the team leaders in blocks with six a piece over 10 games. Nine Toreros have recorded at least one block this season.
• Pace has also led the charge in creating turnovers against opponents, racking up 37 steals and averaging 3.7 per game.
• Defensive rebounding has been key for San Diego as the Toreros have recorded over 200 defensive rebounds on the year.
• Pace, Pollock and
Patricia Brossmann have been playmakers off the glass, tallying over 30 defensive rebounds.
• Brossmann leads the way for San Diego off the glass, averaging 7.0 rebounds per game. The forward has recorded 35 offensive and defensive boards making her a key piece to San Diego's second chance efforts.
• As a team, San Diego is out rebounding its opponents 382-313 and is forcing an average of 20.7 turnovers per game.

LOOKING AHEAD
• The Toreros will open up West Coast Conference play after the holidays on the road versus Pepperdine.
• Following the game in Malibu on December 28, the Toreros will have a quick turnaround as they face LMU on the road on December 30.
