MALIBU, Calif. - The Toreros (6-6, 0-1 WCC) got an 18-point showing from the bench, but fell 73-57 to Pepperdine (7-4, 1-0) on the road on Saturday afternoon.

San Diego had two players score in double figures, led by senior guard
Madison Pollock, who had 18 points and eight rebounds.
Leticia Soares added 10 points off of the bench, and
Myah Pace added seven points and four steals.

The Toreros were once again potent off the glass recording 18 boards on the offensive end of the floor for 10 second chance points.

The San Diego defense was efficient in Saturday's game, forcing 15 Pepperdine turnovers to create 14 points on the offensive end of the floor. Pace's four steals led the way individually for the Toreros as the junior now has 42 on the season.

San Diego kept it close in the first quarter and entered the second frame down by only one point, 21-20.

The Toreros and the Waves continued to battle back-and-forth in the second as Pepperdine gained momentum to create a six-point lead at the half, 36-30.

San Diego started to cut into the deficit after halftime, bringing it to 49-44 by the end of the third quarter. San Diego played well near the basket, scoring eight of its 14 points in the paint.

Pepperdine went on a run in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Toreros 24-13 in the period led by Hannah Fried's 10 points. San Diego couldn't pull any closer, losing by a final of 73-57. San Diego took advantage of its opportunities in the post, scoring 10 of its 13 points in the paint.

The Toreros are back in action on Monday afternoon, when they'll take on LMU in Los Angeles at 2 p.m. (PT).
