Toreros Stumble Against Idaho

San Diego falls 65-32 to the Vandals

SAN DIEGO -- San Diego women's basketball fell to Idaho (4-3) 65-32 on Wednesday night inside Jenny Craig Pavilion. With the loss, the Toreros move to 4-3 on the season.

Myah Pace led the Toreros with eight points and two steals. Leticia Soares also tacked on four points and eight rebounds from the bench, and Patricia Brossmann helped out with nine rebounds.

Led by Brossmann's five offensive rebounds, San Diego was able to crash the offensive glass, pulling down 16 boards that resulted in eight second chance points.

San Diego forced 13 Idaho turnovers as juniors Sydney Hunter and Pace led the way individually with two steals on the night.

The Toreros struggled out of the gate, falling behind 17-10 at the end of the first quarter. USD continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 36-16 halftime deficit.

USD's deficit continued to grow after halftime as they struggled to find offensive rhythm. Jordyn Edwards hit a three pointer at the top of the key to try and turn the momentum, but Idaho went on a 9-0 run with seven minutes left in the quarter to widen the gap.

The Vandals held strong in the fourth as San Diego was only able to tack on nine additional points in the period.

The bench pulled valuable minutes for San Diego in the contest as 11 players saw time on the court.

San Diego will look to rebound on Saturday afternoon as Cal State Fullerton visits the JCP for a 2 p.m. (PT) matchup.
