TEMPE, Ariz. – San Diego could not slow down a hot Utah State offense Friday afternoon as the Toreros fell 12-1 in five innings in their opening game at the Littlewood Classic.

The Aggies (2-6) scored two runs in each of the first four innings to take a commanding lead, then added four more in the top of the fifth to seal the result.

Rion Simms produced the only run of the day for the Toreros (2-7), singling in the bottom of the second inning to bring in
Madison Casiano.

Five USD players registered a hit apiece, while nine Utah State players combined for 14 base knocks.

Madison Earnshaw (1-2) got the start for USD and lasted 1 1/3 innings before being relieved by
Delaney Heller who went 1 2/3 innings.
Halle Kyler finished the final 2.0 innings.

The Toreros will look to get back on track on Saturday with a pair of games against Central Michigan and No. 4 Florida.
