FRESNO, Calif. – San Diego dropped a pair of games to begin play at the Fresno State Invitational on Thursday evening.

The Toreros (14-17) dropped a 12-4 decision against Cal State Bakersfield in the first game and fell to Fresno State 14-0 in five innings in the second game.

USD held a 3-2 lead for a majority of the first game against the Roadrunners but were undone by a six-run sixth inning and a four run seventh inning.

Madison Earnshaw got the start in the circle and was excellent through the first 5.0 innings but CSUB's offense heated up in the last two innings.
Halle Kyler and
Hannah Boos came in as relief but could not slow down the Roadrunners hot streak.

Sara Silveyra and
Lauren Kane led the offense for USD, both going 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

The Toreros fell behind early against Fresno State, giving up six runs in each of the first two innings to fall behind 12-0.
