SAN DIEGO – The Toreros offense led the way Friday night with 16 total shots, 11 on goal in a 3-0 victory against LIU to kick off the regular season.
Michaela Foster got it going early, netting a goal off of a free kick in the 4th minute. San Diego led an offensive attack in the first period recording nine shots, six on target.
Milan Moses led the way with five shots and finally connected in the 33rd minute from 30 yards out.
The Toreros defense held strong only allowing one shot from LIU in the first period.
The second period began with an early shot on goal by
Delaney Jannone, which was saved by LIU's Lydia Fraga Cordoba.
Halle Walls and
Sami Fairweather also had great looks with a shot on goal each.
Jamie Goralski scored her first goal as a Torero in the 76th minute from 20 yards out in the high left corner, making it three to nothing San Diego. Goralski recorded 64 minutes in the match and contributed two shots on the night.
The defense continued to impress allowing only one more shot from LIU in the second.
Amber Michel saw 82 minutes of action, earning the start in the goal with one save.
San Diego will face another non-conference opponent in Holy Cross at home Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
