STILLWATER, Okla. - The Toreros opened its stint in the 12th Annual ITA Kick-off Weekend with a 4-0 loss at #10 Oklahoma on Saturday. 

The Toreros (1-1) fell into a hole early by losing the doubles point despite USD's duo of Elizabeth Goldsmith and Helena Francati taking down OSU's Alana Wolfberg and Dariya Detkovskaya 6-3 for the first decision. 

Solymar Colling, playing in her first match of the spring season, and Maria Tyrina battled against No.17 Ayumi Miyamoto and Lisa Marie Rioux at No. 1 and pushed the highly-ranked pair to a tiebreaker before falling 7-6 (7-4). The result gave Oklahoma State the doubles point.

"Very proud of our girls today, we played OSU much closer than the score shows," said USD head coach Sherri Stephens. "Losing the doubles point in tiebreaker put us in a difficult situation going into singles."

USD conceded all three singles matches in straight sets, losing at the No. 1, 2 and 4 positions. 

The Toreros will now face #24 Wake Forest on Sunday at 11 a.m. CT/9 a.m. PT in the site's consolation match.
