Hayley Hensley each racked up three RBIs to help power the Toreros (7-6) over Bethune-Cookman (9-1) on Saturday night to close out action at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

Casiano went 2-for-3 at the plate with a walk and three RBIs. Hensley put together a 3-for-4 performance with a double to add onto her three RBIs. Sophomore
Kelli Kufta also continued to do well at the plate, compiling a 2-for-4 effort with a double and RBI.

Courtney Rose (1-0) earned her first collegiate start in the circle for San Diego and picked up the win.

The Toreros got the scoring started early, putting runs on the board in the first inning as Hensley connected for an RBI single to score senior

Bethune-Cookman rallied quickly to tie the ballgame at one apiece before the Toreros answered back in the top of the third. With runners at second and third, freshman
Clareese Santiago stepped up to execute a suicide squeeze to score Hensley from third. The lone run of the inning created a 2-1 advantage USD.

San Diego held Bethune-Cookman without a run before expanding the lead again in the top of the fourth. Casiano executed with a sac fly to left to score
Halle Kyler to tack on one more for the Toreros.

Both teams remained scoreless until the sixth inning as San Diego's offense exploded, scoring four runs highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of Hensley to create a 7-1 edge.

Delaney Heller kept BCU off the board in the bottom of the sixth as the Toreros pushed two more runs across at the top of the seventh to win it 9-1.

The Toreros are back in action on Monday to face Utah at the USD Softball Complex for a double header at noon and 2 p.m. (PT).
