THE BREAKDOWN
After taking a 16-point lead at halftime, San Diego held on to defeat Nevada on the road Friday, 75-68. Senior guard Jase Townsend led the team with 18 points and added four assists and three rebounds. Graduate center Terrell Brown-Soares ended with 16 points (8-14 FG), eight rebounds and seven blocks. He registered the second most blocks in a single game in program history. Senior forward Marcellus Earlington scored in double-figures once again, netting 10 points to go along with five boards.
 
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS
Cal fell to UCSD 80-67 in season opener before dropping a 55-52 contest to UNLV on Saturday. Graduate guard Jordan Shepherd leads the team with 18.0 points per game. Senior forward Andre Kelly is averaging 12.5 PPG and 10.0 RPG.
