THE USD BREAKDOWN
San Diego took the lead with 10:51 left in the first half and never looked back in a win over UC Riverside on Wednesday, 74-62.
Joey Calcaterra led all scorers with 21 points, just two shy of his career high. Calcaterra shot 7-of-9 from the field, 3-of-4 from long range, and 4-of-5 from the free throw line.
Marcellus Earlington notched a season-high 16 points in the win, making 7-of-11 shot attempts, including two three-pointers.
SCOUTING THE TITANS
After dropping the first two games of the season to Santa Clara and San Jose State, Cal State Fullerton earned its first win over George Washington on Tuesday, 74-59. The Titans have five players averaging double-figures, including E.J. Anosike (19.3), Dante Maddox Jr. (12.3), Vincent Lee (12.0), Tray Maddox Jr. (10.3), and Damari Milstead (10.0). Sophomore guard Latrell Wrightsell Jr is adding 9.0 points per contest.
