Men’s Basketball Edged By South Alabama, 68-67

LAS VEGAS – Josh Parrish scored the go-ahead layup with 1.4 seconds left, but the officials ruled no basket to give South Alabama (4-2) the win over the San Diego men's basketball team (3-3), 68-67.

After coming up with a defensive stop, senior Jase Townsend raced down the floor with less than 10 seconds left. His layup attempt rolled off the rim, where Parrish grabbed the rebound and connected on the put-back. However, the officials ruled a USD player touched the ball while it was still on the rim and waved off the score.

Townsend scored a season-high 25 points, making 10-of-19 field goals.

Parrish and redshirt senior guard Joey Calcaterra each added 10 points in the loss.
