SAN DIEGO—The Toreros fell to Arizona State 79-60 at the Jenny Craig Pavilion on Saturday, December 18. San Diego (7-3, 0-0 WCC) battled on offense and defense against the Sun Devils (6-5, 0-0 Pac-12) until the very end. Defensively, the Toreros had 35 rebounds, 9 steals, and four blocks. On offense, the Toreros had 10 assists and two players scored in double-digits. The leading scorer of the game was Steph Gorman followed by Jordyn Edwards. 

WHAT HAPPENED

• San Diego led the first quarter 21-20. Steph Gorman led the team with seven points.
  • The Toreros shot 57.1 percent from the field in the first quarter.
• In the first half, the Toreros scored 18 points off turnovers. 
• In the third quarter, San Diego outworked Arizona State on defense with five steals compared to zero.  
• The Toreros scored 22 total points in the paint.
• San Diego outscored Arizona State on the bench with 30 points compared to 11. 
• Two players scored in double-digits: Steph Gorman scored 14 points and Jordyn Edwards had 13.
