•San Diego fired on all cylinders on Thursday night as the Toreros took down the Pilots 66-59 inside the Jenny Craig Pavilion to secure the regular season sweep against Portland. On Saturday, the Toreros tacked on a double-digit performance from the bench but fell to No. 16 Gonzaga 69-47.

• Against the Pilots, the Toreros had three players score in double figures, led by guard
Steph Gorman, who had 19 points.
Sydney Hunter put together her second double-double of the year with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and
Kendall Bird chipped in as well with 12 points.

• The San Diego defense did not let up against Portland, forcing 20 turnovers while committing 16. Those takeaways turned into 28 points on the other end of the floor as Edwards led the way individually for the Toreros with five steals.

• Gorman and Pace also led the offense against the Zags with 13 and 11 points respectively. San Diego forced 14 Gonzaga turnovers as the Toreros turned the takeaways into 13 points on the other end of the floor. Gorman's three steals led the way for San Diego.

ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST PACIFIC
• San Diego holds advantage in the all-time series against the Tigers at 18-8. The Toreros are on a one game losing streak after dropping the first contest of the 2020-21 campaign, 61-66.

STEAL CITY IN THE RANKINGS
• San Diego's defense continues to be a powerhouse in NCAA Division I.

• San Diego is currently third in steals per game, third in total steals, fourth in turnovers forced and eighth in turnover margin. The Toreros yet to dip below top 10 in any of these categories during conference play in 2020-21.
• Edwards is also among the country's elite defenders, ranking 10th in steals per game and 12th in total steals on the season.

HONORING THE SENIOR CLASS
• San Diego will honor four seniors in Monday's contest in
Myah Pace,
Sydney Hunter,
Jordyn Edwards and
Kendall Bird.

• The four players are arguably among the most accomplished class in recent history for the Toreros. The group helped lead USD to the 2020 WCC Championship contest, generating an 11-game improvement from the season prior. The 2019-20 campaign would have marked another visit to the postseason as the Toreros were automatic qualifiers to the WNIT.

• Pace leaves her mark in the record books as USD's current single-season steals record holder. Last season she was named an All-WCC first team honoree and to the All-WCC Tournament team. She averaged 11.9 points per game and turned in 20 double digit performances during her junior year.

• Hunter has been a three-year starter for the Toreros playing a total of 96 games and starting in 79 of those contests. This season she matched her career-high 18 points against Saint Mary's and has turned in four double doubles during her career. She has been one of the most consistent players in the WCC ranking 15th in assists per game, 9th in rebounding and 7th in steals per game.

• Edwards made an immediate impact as a transfer after her redshirt season, starting all 31 games last year. She's 9th all time in USD's single season leaderboard for free-throw percentage at 85.1 percent. A 2020 All-WCC second team selection, Edwards has been a presence in the rotation and is currently among the nation's most elite defenders ranking in the top 20 in steals per game and total steals on the season.

• Buckley, Wash. native Bird has been key for the Toreros in 2020-21 as a consistent starter for USD. She currently ranks first on the team in blocks, third in rebounding and fifth in scoring. Bird notched two new career highs this season with 16 points against San Diego Christian and eight rebounds against LMU.

THE HUNT FOR THE WCC CROWN
• The Toreros will look to continue their dominance in the West Coast Conference after finishing the 2019-20 regular season ranked second in the WCC. San Diego earned the triple-bye to the WCC Tournament Semi-finals for the first time in program history to knock off Pepperdine.

• San Diego then fell to Portland 64-63 in overtime in the WCC Championship and qualified for the 2020 WNIT prior to the season's cancellation in March. The postseason appearance would have marked the eighth under head coach
Cindy Fisher's tenure at USD.
