SAN DIEGO—No. 18 San Diego got its tenth consecutive win with a 3-1 victory over San Francisco on Thursday afternoon in the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

The Toreros (10-0, 10-0 WCC) had three players with double-digit kills, led by
Roxie Wiblin with 13 and
Grace Frohling and
Katie Lukes with 12 kills each. Lukes hit .300 in the match with three errors on 30 swings. Frohling also added two aces and five block assists to finish with a team-high 16.5 points.

Laura Madill had the offense hitting at a .234 clip and notched her fourth double-double of the season, finishing the day with 30 assists, 11 digs.

USD's defense held the Dons (5-5, 5-5 WCC) to a .137 hitting percentage and have only allowed two opponents to hit over .200 this season. The Toreros collected nine team blocks, led by
Lauren Turner and Frohling who both collected five blocks including one solo stop for Turner.
Gabby Goddard also added four block assists in the contest.

San Diego collected 65 digs in the contest, led by
Annie Benbow who finished with 21 digs, while
Camryn Tastad added nine and Wiblin and Frohling both chipped in eight.

It was all USD to start the contest, jumping out to a 10-3 lead behind a serving run by Benbow and one by Frohling. The Toreros extended their lead, 21-10 before the Dons put together a 6-2 run late in the first frame but USD would not be slowed down, cruising to a 25-17 first-set victory after hitting a match-best .333.

USF took the early lead 6-3 in set two, and held the advantage midway through the set at 10-8. The Toreros then put together a four-point run to take the lead for the first time in the frame, 12-10. The teams traded points before a Lukes kill and USF hitting error gave USD a three-point lead at 16-13. The Dons pulled even at 17-17 and the teams stayed knotted to a 22-all tie. Two kills from Wiblin and a kill from Frohling closed out the set for the Toreros 25-23 and USD took a 2-0 lead into the break.

San Francisco again worked its way to the early lead, 11-6 and held strong to a 15-10 advantage. USD then outscored the Dons 7-2 to even the set at 17-17 sparked by three kills from Wiblin and a timely block from Frohling and Turner. A service error by USD and an ace gave the Dons a two-point advantage and the teams traded points back-and-forth to a 25-23 third-set victory for USF to stay alive in the match.

USD came out on fire in the final set, taking an early 7-2 lead behind back-to-back blocks from Goddard and Frohling, a kill for Frohling and an ace from Madill. The Dons rallied to 10-7 before a six-point gave USD the commanding lead and the Toreros never looked back, cruising to the 25-16 fourth-set victory and the match, 3-1.

The Toreros will begin their longest road stint of the season next week, traveling to face Pacific for a pair of matches in Stockton, Calif. on March 5 and 6. Friday's match is set for 6 p.m. PT and Saturday's match will begin at 1 p.m. PT.
