SAN DIEGO - San Diego women's tennis (6-3) came out on top against Oregon (9-3) on Sunday, defeating the Ducks 4-3 in a thrilling match at the Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center. The Toreros are now 5-2 in their newly renovated home. 

Oregon jumped out to an early lead with a 6-2 doubles win on court three and clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win on court two. On court one, Solymar Colling and Elizabeth Goldsmith continued their won their seventh straight doubles matchup 6-4. with a 6-4 win. 

In singles play, freshman Jordyn McBride tied the match at 1-1 with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court three, but Oregon pushed back to take two points with 7-5, 6-2 win on court six and a 6-4, 7-5 win on court five. 

Goldsmith then cut the lead to 3-2 with a 6-1, 7-6 (10-8) win on court two, coming back from down 1-6 in the tiebreak to clinch the victory. Colling evened up the match with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) win on court one. 

With everyone's attention on court five, sophomore Victoria Kalaitzis came through clutch, winning 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 to clinch the match for San Diego.

The Toreros will be back in action on Friday, March 26 as they begin WCC play on the road against Pacific. The match is scheduled for noon (PT).
