SAN DIEGO — San Diego men's soccer fell to Lipscomb by a score of 4-0 on Sunday evening at Torero Stadium in what marked its first home game of the 2021 season.
The Toreros trailed 1-0 at halftime after the Bisons' Scott Gulden scored to the low left section of the goal at the 15:40 mark via an assist from Noah Gulden.
Lipscomb added on with three more goals in the second half from Javanne Smith, Tyrese Spicer, and Louis Robinson. The scores occurred in the 59th, 63rd, and 86th minutes, respectively, and were accomplished with assists from Spicer, Luca Naumann, and Smith.
Alex Churness led the way for the Toreros with three shots, while
Nicklas Clausen,
Praise Maduekwe, and
Jake Schneider each notched a single shot.
USD is back in action next Friday, September 3rd when it takes on UC Riverside at Torero Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
