Callie Johnson won two races, sophomore
Mia Griffiths won another, and freshman
Jane Riehs dominated in the 3 Meter Dive, but USD swimming and diving dropped a 159-123 decision to San Diego State at the Aztec Aquaplex on Friday afternoon.
Johnson placed first in both the 100 Yard Fly and the 200 Yard IM, recording times of 1:01.63 and 2:15.51 in each race, respectively.
Griffiths won the 500 Yard Free with a time of 5:25.44, with graduate student
Adrienne Bilello and sophomore
Emma Peters not too far behind with times of 5:25.90 and 5:33.38.
Riehs paced all divers with a Finals Score of 238.28 in the 3 Meter Dive, followed by two other Toreros — senior
Isabel Busyn and freshman
Kennedy Turner in the second and third place spots. Busyn had a score of 220.20 and Turner notched a 203.40.
The Toreros also prevailed in the 200 Yard Free Relay, with juniors
Parker Henry and
Rachel Hubka, senior
Hannah Hudson, and sophomore
Jayne Brandt taking first place after putting together a time of 1:39.57.
USD is back in action with another crosstown matchup on Saturday, February 5 when it travels to UC San Diego to take on the Tritons.
