Wilson Places Sixth in the 5K as San Diego Swim and Dive Competes at the MPSF Open Water Championships

Seven Toreros swim the 5K at Marine Stadium, with Wilson leading the way for the Toreros

LONG BEACH, Calif. — The San Diego swim and dive team competed Saturday at the MPSF Open Water Championships at Marine Stadium.

Junior Sydney Wilson led the Toreros, placing sixth in 1:03:07.32. She finished 11.65 seconds behind fifth place and touched 0.07 seconds ahead of seventh. Sophomore Alison Diehl took 27th in 1:07:05.55 to score the team's other point.

Sophomore Emma Welch placed 35th in 1:10:05.27, and freshman Mallory Paine took 38th in 1:10:45.43. Freshman Charlotte Ames was 39th in 1:10:50.87, freshman Heléna Huettemeyer was 46th in 1:12:19.37, and senior Elle Ramos finished 54th in 1:14:59.02.
