HOW IT HAPPENED
  • San Diego nearly took the lead in the 21st minute, as Oshea Foster dribbled up the field and sent a shot from the 18 that went inches wide.
  • Alejandro Fernandez dished the ball to Bahena down the right side in the 40th minute. The freshman sent a cross inside the box, where Vigil headed it home for the 1-0 lead.
  • With less than a minute to play in the first half, Dubrovich made a kick save on an LMU shot from inside the 18. At halftime, USD maintained a 1-0 lead.
  • In the 59th minute, the LMU goalkeeper played short pass ahead from inside his box. Ayala won the ball and poked it ahead to Foster, who made a move to his left and scored for the 2-0 lead.
  • San Diego was awarded a free kick in the 78th minute. From 30 yards out, Pena blasted a perfect shot inside the right post for the 3-0 advantage.
  • Just over two minutes later, the Toreros gathered an LMU corner kick and transitioned down the field. Vigil would eventually set up Gourdie down the right side to make it 4-0.
