Led by four in double figures, California Baptist (7-4) outlasted the University of San Diego men's basketball team (5-5) on Saturday, 76-73. Graduate guard Eric Williams Jr. led the Toreros with 18 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. Senior guard Jase Townsend added 17 points, four rebounds, and four assists in the win, including 8-of-10 from the free throw line. Graduate forward Jaiden Delaire also went into double figures, scoring 11 points on 5-of-10 from the floor.

UCSD was selected 10th in the Big West Preseason Poll. Redshirt junior guard Bryce Pope leads the team with 20.3 points per game and 18 made triples. Three others are averaging over nine points per game, including senior forward J'Raan Brooks (9.9), freshman guard Roddie Anderson (9.6), and redshirt junior center Emmanuel Tshimanga (9.3).
