SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's basketball program (6-5, 0-0 WCC) is set to open conference play this weekend, facing off against Portland (6-5, 0-0 WCC) on Saturday at 5 p.m., in Portland, before traveling for a game at No. 23 Gonzaga (9-2, 0-0 WCC) on Monday at 6 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
- San Diego dropped its non-conference finale, falling to San Diego State, 68-45, on the road.
- Kiera Oakry remained on fire offensively, finishing the game with 17 points. Oakry now has games of 17 or more in two of her last three contests.
- The Toreros out-rebounded their ninth opponent this season despite the loss.
OPPONENT HISTORY
- The Toreros lead the all-time series against Portland, holding a 46-35 advantage and have won three of the last four matchups. Kylie Horstmeyer finished with a career-high 16 points in last season's 61-53 win.
- San Diego trails 23-50 in the all-time series against Gonzaga and will aim to snap a 12-game skid to the Zags.

- Laura Erikstrup has found her rhythm on the boards as of late, averaging 8.0 rebounds per game over her last three games.
- The Toreros continue to turn defense into offense, as they lead the WCC in scoring defense at 59.3 and are in second in turnovers forced per game (17.45).
- The Toreros also rank second in the WCC in offensive rebounds per game (14.8) which ranks 39th in the nation and rebounding margin (7.4), which is 56th in the nation.

- Oakry has been adept at drawing contact all season and has gotten to the free throw line frequently, ranking fourth in the WCC in free made free throws (40).
- Kasey Neubert ranks ninth in the WCC in rebounds per game at 6.7.
- Myah Pace is closing in on several milestones in her highly successful Torero career, sitting just 52 points away from 1,000 and 30 steals away from 250 in her career.
