TEMPE, AZ – Led by five in double figures, Arizona State (11-1) defeated the University of San Diego men's basketball team (6-6) on Sunday, 91-67.
Graduate guard
Eric Williams Jr. registered his sixth double-double of the season through 12 games, ending with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Junior
Sigu Sisoho Jawara also went into double figures with 15 points on 6-of-11 from the floor.
Fifth year guard
Marcellus Earlington added 12 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
USD drops to an even 6-6 on the season, and will travel to UC Riverside on Tuesday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Arizona State jumped out to a 7-0 lead before Eric Williams buried a corner triple.
- The Sun Devils led 19-10 with 12:22 left in the first half, but USD answered with an 11-0 run. McKinney and Pierre (with an and one) both knocked down triples, while Williams added two jumpers.
- Desmond Cambridge Jr. scored nine straight points for ASU to regain the lead. Late in the second half, Jawara buried three-pointers on back-to-back possessions.
- The Sun Devils scored the last four points of the first half, and took a 41-34 lead into the break.
- Arizona State extended its lead to 53-38 with a 7-0 run early in the second half.
- San Diego cut the deficit to eight with 8:50 left, helped by three-pointers from Jawara and Neel Beniwal. ASU answered with a 21-2 run to put the game out of reach.

- Williams Jr. is averaging 14.7 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. He ranks top-15 nationally for both double-doubles and rebounds per game.
- Earlington went into double figures for the 10th time this season, which leads the team.
