A step back three-pointer with time expiring from fifth year guard Jase Townsend lifted USD (5-3) past Longwood (4-4) in dramatic fashion on Monday, 71-68. He ended with 15 points on 6-of-8 from the floor. Sophomore Wayne McKinney III scored a season-high 15 points in the win to go along with five rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Graduate forward Jaiden Delaire scored in double figures for the third straight game, ending with 14 points, five rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block. Senior Marcellus Earlington registered his second double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

SCOUTING THE RUNNIN' REBELS

UNLV is receiving votes in the AP Poll after starting the season 7-0 for the first time in 11 years, which has included a win over then-No. 21 Dayton and capturing the SoCal Challenge title just before Thanksgiving. Sophomore guard Keshon Gilbert leads the team with 15.9 points per game. Fifth year guard EJ Harkless is adding 14.1 points, while senior guard Luis Rodriguez is averaging 10.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest.

UNLV holds a 3-0 lead in the all-time series, including an 80-57 win in Vegas last season. Marcellus Earlington scored 14 points in the loss.
