Outscoring the Highlanders 18-10 in the overtime period, the University of San Diego men's basketball team (7-6) defeated UC Riverside (6-5) on Tuesday, 92-84. In his 96th collegiate game, junior Sigu Sisoho Jawara set a new career high with 29 points, making 8-of-15 field goal attempts, 4-of-6 three-point attempts, and 9-of-10 free throws. Jawara added four assists and three rebounds in the win. Fifth year guard Marcellus Earlington matched his career high with 25 points on 10-of-18 from the floor. He also contributed eight rebounds, three assists, a steal, and a block. Graduate guard Eric Williams Jr. notched his seventh double-double in 12 games, ending with 23 points and 14 rebounds.
SCOUTING THE MATADORS
The Matadors have lost seven of eight games by less than 10 points this season and earned wins over La Sierra and Whittier. Three players are averaging double figures, including sophomore guard Dionte Bostick (14.0), sophomore guard Atin Wright (13.9), and redshirt junior guard De'Sean Allen-Eikens (11.7).
