SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's basketball program (6-4, 0-0 WCC) rode career-highs from
Laura Erikstrup and
Jess Finney en route to their second consecutive win, defeating CSUN (0-7, 0-0 Big West), 73-57, on Tuesday night at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

Finney led the way with 17 points on five three pointers and three assists, while Erikstrup added 16 points and five rebounds.
Ayanna Khalfani also stuffed the stat sheet, with six points, eight assists and four steals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a couple of baskets from both teams to open the game, the Toreros created some separation when Finney made her first three pointer.
- Finney and Erikstrup traded baskets throughout the first, while Veronica Sheffey added a lay-in and the Toreros held a 16-9 lead through one.
- A 9-2 run early in the second quarter gave the Toreros some breathing room as Kylie Horstmeyer added six points to pace the team.
- The lead would balloon to 20 by the end of the third quarter, as Erikstrup and Finney continued to stack up points.
- The duo combined on several plays throughout the night, including a key steal by Finney immediately following an Erikstrup basket, that set up Melesungu Afeaki for a layup.
- A 7-0 run by CSUN to open the fourth quarter cut the deficit, but the Toreros showed poise and let the lead get no lower than 12.
- Kiera Oakry helped put the game out of reach with two minutes left, burying a three with the foul and hit the free throw for an 18-point lead.

- Myah Pace moved into a tie for ninth on the Toreros all-time list in made free throws at 248, matching Morgan Henderson.
- The Toreros finished with eight made three pointers, good for their most since Feb. 10, 2022 against Loyola Marymount.
- The Toreros ended the game with 21 assists, good for the most by the team this year. The Toreros went over 20 assists three times last season.
- San Diego out-rebounded their eighth opponent this season in the win.
