Women's Basketball Clinches Third Consecutive Win Over Pepperdine

Toreros defeated the Waves 63-53 at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu, CA

SAN DIEGO —The Toreros defeated the Pepperdine Waves by 10 points at the Firestone Fieldhouse; 63-53. 

Sydney Hunter recorded her third consecutive game scoring over 21 points this week. Hunter scored 22 points against Pepperdine. She shot 9-12 from the field and 4-4 at the free throw line. Earlier this week, Hunter dropped 29 points against Pacific on Monday, Feb. 7 and 21 points against LMU on Thursday, Feb. 10.

Other key contributors on offense were Steph Gorman with eight points, Kendall Bird with seven, and Jordyn Edwards with six. Collectively, the Toreros tallied 15 assists. On defense, San Diego collected 32 rebounds and 12 steals. The Toreros also forced 23 turnovers on the Waves. Jordyn Edwards and Erica Martinsen led the team in steals with three each.
