SAN DIEGO – Shooting 56.7 percent from the floor, No. 2 Gonzaga (18-2, 7-0 WCC) defeated the San Diego men's basketball team (13-10, 6-4 WCC) on Thursday, 92-62. In addition to the audience on ESPN2, the announced crowd of 5,443 was one of the largest in program history.

San Diego drops to 13-10 (6-4 WCC) on the season, and will remain home to face Santa Clara on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brown-Soares and Timme traded baskets early for a 4-4 start.
- San Diego used a 7-0 run, including jumpers from Calcaterra and Brown-Soares and a triple from Townsend to tie the game at 12-12.
- Gonzaga quickly answered with seven straight points to regain the lead.
- The Bulldogs extended their lead late in the first half with a 12-2 run, including four points on fast breaks.
- Calcaterra scored the last four points of the half for USD, including a steal and layup with less than 10 seconds remaining. At the break, Gonzaga led 38-24.
- Two McKinney free throws and a Calcaterra triple cut the deficit to 11 early in the second. Shortly after, McKinney and Earlington hit three-pointers to make it a nine-point game.
- Gonzaga answered with a 7-0 run on four straight made field goals.
- Chet Holmgren scored 11 straight points for Gonzaga to put the road team up 75-50.
- TJ Berger hit a late triple to stop a 5-0 spurt, but the Bulldogs put the game out of reach.

- Brown-Soares was one rebound shy of a career-high. He is now averaging 8.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks. He jumped up to sixth all-time with 54 blocks in a single season.
- Earlington went into double-figures for the 17th time this season, and leads the team with 13.4 points per contest.
- Calcaterra went into double-figures for the 15th time this year.
- McKinney ended with nine points, two rebounds, and a steal.
- The Zags held a 48-22 advantage in the paint.

- San Diego's bench outscored Gonzaga's bench 22-21.
