LAST TIME OUT
• The Toreros took two of three from BYU at Miller Park last weekend, bouncing back after an 11-7 defeat on Thursday night for 8-3 and 4-3 wins on Friday and Saturday to take the series.
• USD's game one loss came despite scoring first and plating a trio of runs in the top of the ninth inning.
• Every player in the San Diego lineup notched a hit in game two as it put up five runs in the top of the second and three in the seventh, and Ivran Romero, Kyle Carr, and Ian Churchill teamed up for a strong collective effort on the mound.
• Reigning WCC Pitcher of the Week Brycen Mautz made his first start in a series finale on Saturday and turned in a solid outing, throwing six strong frames while scattering 10 hits.
• Chase Meidroth hammered a late-game homer as part of three total RBIs on the day and Ryan Kysar set forth a gutsy performance on the mound to close it out, securing the 4-3 victory by inducing a game-ending double play in the bottom of the ninth with runners on first and second base.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST THE TITANS
• The Toreros are 19-63-3 against the Titans all-time but are 7-3 in their last 10 matchups versus CSUF, including a wild 11-10 win earlier this season on March 15 at Fowler Park.
• Graduate left-hander Ian Churchill turned in a solid start on the mound that evening, settling in after allowing a run in the top of the first for four scoreless frames.
• Three Toreros turned in three-hit performances (Meidroth, Jefferis, and Ricketts), one San Diego player had two (Allen), and seven notched at least one hit on the night.
• USD plated a run in the first, two in the second, six in the seventh, and one in the eighth to build what was at one point a 10-4 lead, but Cal State Fullerton pulled within one in the ninth.
• Sophomore left-handed pitcher Cole Colleran (Canyon Crest Academy) finished the game on the mound for the Toreros and was able to work his way out of trouble, allowing a single run on a bases-loaded walk before he retired the next three batters in order to end it.

• He went 1-for-2 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a walk last Monday against the Aztecs before notching hits in all three games in Provo.
• The infielder was 1-for-5 with a run scored and a double in game one, was 1-for-4 with another run scored, a walk, and a double in game two, and erupted for a 3-for-5 performance with a run scored, three RBIs, and a crucial late-game two-run homer that proved to be the difference in a series finale at Miller Park that was decided by just one run.

•Though he yielded a run on a solo homer, he buckled down and got it done when it counted, stranding both the tying and winning runs on the basepaths in the bottom of the ninth when he induced a ground ball for a game-ending double play.
•His final line against the Cougars: 3.0 IP, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 K, and his first career college save.

Combining their 2019 record (32-21), their abbreviated 2020 totals (12-4), their 33-12 mark in 2021, and their 25-13 record so far in 2022, the Toreros are a conference-best 102-50 (.671) in that 152-game span.
