Jason Dubrovich saved six total shots in the loss, but the Blue Devils snuck one past just over 17 minutes into the contest.
USD falls to 0-1 on the season, and will take on Elon this Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Duke created two chances on the doorstep in the third minute, but Dubrovich came up with two saves.
- The Blue Devils got on the board first in the 18th minute, as Scotty Taylor sent a left-footed shot in a crowded box to the upper right side.
- Dubrovich ended the first half with five saves, as Duke maintained a 1-0 lead at the break.
- USD threatened in the 79th minute, as Nicklas Clausen sent a shot high towards the frame, but Duke came up with the save.
- Neither team registered a shot over the final 11 minutes.
