SAN DIEGO — Sophomore forward Lexi Nobles found the back of the net for her first goal of the season on Sunday night but San Diego women's soccer dropped a tough decision to LSU, falling by a 4-1 margin to the Tigers before a crowd of 1,577 at Torero Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Sunday night's match remained scoreless until the 33rd minute, when LSU struck first to take a 1-0 lead it would carry into halftime.
• The Tigers scored again in the 54th minute before junior defender Malia Walencewicz found Nobles on a corner kick at the 72:53 mark, setting up the North Tustin, California native for a header to the low right section of the goal to cut the deficit to just one.
• San Diego would get no closer, however, suffering a 4-1 defeat after LSU added on with scores in the 79th and 87th minutes.

TORERO TIDBITS

• Freshman midfielder Daniella Guerrero led the way for USD with two shots, while Junior midfielder Maronne Suzuki and freshmen Cameryn Maddox (forward), Leila Kahoano (midfielder), Millie Thistleton (defender), and Josefine Schlichting (midfielder) all recorded a single shot.
• Freshman goalkeeper Sophine Kevorkian (La Jolla High School) notched three saves.
