SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's tennis program wrapped up play at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C., as five Toreros competed among the nation's top players.
 
Claudia De Las Heras continued her strong start to the 2023-24 season, winning her opening round pre-qualifying matchup against Florentine Dekkers of LSU in straight sets. De Las Heras also added win in the standard qualifying section of doubles, alongside her partner Jordyn McBride.
 
Filippa Bruu-Syversen also tacked on a win in a consolation match, defeating a WCC opponent in Iva Zelic of Portland in straight sets. However, the Toreros were unable to qualify anyone from the qualifying draws into the main draw.
 
The Toreros are back in action on Oct. 13, as they open the first of three days at home for the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic, hosted at the Hogan Tennis Center.
