SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Senior middle blocker
Leyla Blackwell has been named the WCC Defensive Player of the Week for November 6, the West Coast Conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Blackwell led the San Diego defense in a pair of wins at Santa Clara and Pacific last week, totaling 15 blocks (1.88 B/S). She got things started with four blocks on Thursday night in a road sweep of the Broncos, then added 11 more (one solo) and six digs at Pacific in a five-set win over the Tigers.
