SAN DIEGO – Head coach
Cindy Fisher and the San Diego women's basketball program have announced the signing of three players to National Letters of Intent, who will join the program in the fall of 2024.
Joining the Toreros next season are three forwards –
Erica Carr (Grand Prairie, Texas),
Dresha Moore (Hawthorne, Calif.) and
Eva Ruse (North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada).
ERICA CARR
Position: Forward
Height: 6'3"
Hometown/High School: Grand Prairie, Texas / South Grand Prairie High School
Career Highlights:
- The Grand Prairie, Texas, native averaged a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds per game and was the team rebound leader.
- Carr played her club basketball with the North Texas Shockers.
- The forward was the 2022 Patrick Baumann Sportsmanship Award winner and a first team All-Conference award winner.
- In addition, Carr has been extremely active internationally, competing with the "Basketball without Borders" America's All-Star Team and Women's Global All-Star Team.
- Carr comes from a highly athletic family, as her dad, Eric, played basketball at Penn State and then professionally overseas and in Mexico.
- Her mother, Sandra Ramos, played basketball with the Mexican national team and has continued to coach following her playing career.
- Carr was born in Jimenez, Chihuahua, Mexico and spent most of her childhood living in Doha, Qatar, before moving to Texas.

DRESHA MOORE
Position: Forward
Height: 6'0"
Hometown/High School: Hawthorne, Calif. / Leuzinger High School
Career Highlights:
- A first team All-CIF Division 2AA honoree, Moore has been a standout player at Leuzinger, where she was also named the 2023 Ocean League Co-MVP.
- Moore was named a first team All-Ocean League honoree as a sophomore as well, while also earning second team honors as a freshman.
- Moore helped lead her team to both the CIF playoffs and CIF state finals.
- Moore played her club basketball with the Cal Storm.
- Outside of basketball, Moore played volleyball and is a gifted student, having been named the Principal's List as a sophomore and junior and to the honor roll as a freshman.
- Moore hails from an athletic family, as her sister Mydrea plays basketball at Cal Poly Pomona.
WHAT THEY ARE SAYING
"Dresha's athleticism and versatility are two attributes that are going to make her very successful at the next level. She will fit our defensive style very well. Her ability to defend 94 feet and guard a variety of players will help her to find immediate success. Dresha is an outstanding student and will thrive in every area at USD. We are so excited to have Dresha joining our Torero family!" –

EVA RUSE
Position: Forward
Height: 6'2"
Hometown/High School: North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada / Mulgrave School
Career Highlights:
- A two-time North Shore Player of the Year and two-time Zone MVP, Ruse capped off her standout high school career by also being named the 2023 B.C. Provincial MVP and the 2022 B.C. Provincial Most Outstanding Defensive Player.
- Ruse helped her side take home three titles in 2023 alone, winning the North Shore championship, Zone championship and the AA Provincial title.
- It marked another big step forward for her team after placing second the previous year at Provincial's, which was then the best performance in program history.
- Ruse played her club basketball for Excel, Become One, and Venue Kings (VK).
- Ruse comes from a strong basketball and volleyball family, as her dad played volleyball at the University of British Columbia, while her sister plays volleyball at the University of New Brunswick. Her mother played basketball at the University of British Columbia.
- Ruse herself was a standout volleyball player, where she was a 2023 AA Provincial First team all-star, a 2023 Club Provincials all-star, a North Shore all-star and was the grade 10 and 11 senior school Female Athlete of the Year.

"Eva is an incredible athlete. She is a very versatile player with an outstanding work ethic. I love how committed Eva is to every sport she is playing. Eva's competitiveness and drive are going to help her to make a quick transition to the next level. Eva comes from a very athletic family and understands what it takes to be successful in the classroom and on the court. We are thrilled to add Eva to our Torero family!" –
