SAN DIEGO – The San Diego women's basketball program (4-9, 0-0 WCC) outscored Brown (9-3, 0-0 Ivy League) in the fourth quarter but could not rally, falling 70-61 on Saturday afternoon at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Toreros got off to a sluggish start on the afternoon, with Brown starting the game on a 10-0 run.
- That lead would rise further, as the Toreros shot just 20 percent from the field in the opening quarter and trailed 24-9.
- San Diego would get an early spark in the second quarter, as they went on a 7-0 run, behind some strong rebounding and three points from Sheffey.
- However, Brown quickly erased the lead behind 60 percent shooting from three-point range in the first half to lead 44-24 at halftime.
- San Diego was able to get a jolt from both Finney and Mila Wawszkowicz in the second half, cutting the lead down to 15.
- Finney and Wawszkowicz scored five and four points in the third quarter respectively, to help the Toreros slowly trim the lead.
- The Toreros gained momentum late, but the lead proved too large to surmount, despite ending on an 18-4 run.
- Finney hit multiple three pointers down the stretch and the lead was cut to single digits in the final seconds.

- Sheffey extended her double-digit point streak to five-straight games.
- The Toreros improved their scoring over each quarter, while limiting the Brown offense to less points in each quarter.
