SAN DIEGO - Sophomore Iiro Vasa of the University of San Diego men's tennis team earned West Coast Conference (WCC) Singles Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

UCU WCC SINGLES PLAYER OF THE WEEK – IIRO VASA, SAN DIEGO 
Vasa picked up two big wins this week. On Friday at Arizona State, he defeated Murphy Cassone on the top court, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. Cassone is currently ranked No. 525 in the world according to the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). According to UTR, Cassone is currently the highest ranked college tennis player in the nation. Then on Sunday at No. 17 Arizona, Vasa earned his second comeback win of the week, this time against No. 85 Colton Smith, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4.
