Toreros Drop Game Three at Oregon

San Diego baseball falls to Ducks by 13-0 margin at PK Park

EUGENE, Ore. — San Diego baseball (5-4-1, 0-0 WCC) on Saturday dropped game three of its four-game series at Oregon (7-3, 0-0 Pac-12), falling to the Ducks 13-0 at PK Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • San Diego kept Oregon off the board for the contest's first three frames before the Ducks scored two in the fourth, four in the fifth, five in the sixth, and two in the seventh inning to secure the win.
TORERO TIDBITS
  • Junior third baseman/outfielder Jack Costello led the USD offense with two hits.
  • Freshman infielder Jack Gurevitch was 1-for-4 and sophomore shortstop Justin DeCriscio was 1-for-3. Both stole a base.
  • DeCriscio has hit safely in all but two of the Toreros' games so far in 2023.
  • Sophomore left-handed pitcher/outfielder Austin Smith (UC San Diego, Granite Hills High School) and sophomore catcher Ariel Armas (St. Augustine High School) both drew a walk on Saturday.
  • Freshman righty Peter Michael threw a scoreless eighth with two strikeouts.
