SAN DIEGO – The San Diego men's soccer program has signed their third addition to the program for the 2023 season, welcoming
Ryan Cedeno as a graduate transfer.
"Ryan brings experience on the right side as either a lockdown center back or up and down wingback," said head coach
Brian Quinn. "We are very pleased to add another quality player to our Torero family."
Cedeno joins the Toreros program after four stellar seasons anchoring the backline for George Washington, where he played in 59 games and registered four assists over 4,112 minutes. Cedeno led the team in minutes played last season, missing only 17 minutes all season and recording 1,693 minutes in total.
Cedeno helped George Washington reach the Atlantic 10 championship game during his sophomore campaign and brings plenty of leadership experience, serving as team captain last season.
A disciplined veteran, Cedeno has only been issued a caution in two games in his career, serving as a dependable member of the defensive corps. The Coconut Park, Fla., native has also been named to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll in his career.
Cedeno adds to the growing transfer class for the Toreros, which also features
Denis Kelmendi (Falkenberg, Sweden/Seton Hall) and
Matteo Gasperoni (Cesena, Italy/Florida International).
Cedeno joins Kelmendi as the second addition to the defense that already features reigning WCC Defender of the Year
Trevor Dillon and reigning WCC Freshman of the Year
Simon Duus Muller.
