SAN DIEGO – The No. 22 San Diego men's soccer program (5-1-1, 0-0-0 WCC) heads out on the road for the first time in three weeks, traveling to Grand Canyon (3-3-0, 0-0-0 WAC) for a Saturday night matchup at 7 p.m., at GCU Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Toreros got heavy production from their defense, defeating California Baptist, 2-0, on Wednesday night at Torero Stadium.
- Trevor Dillon scored the game's opening goal off a set piece via Kevin Pena and Ethan Warne, only to follow it up with an assist on Owen Walz's first collegiate goal.
- Luis Ludosan recorded his second shutout, making three saves in net.
WHAT TO WATCH FOR
- The Toreros have rejoined the top-25 after a one-week reprieve, ranking No. 22 in the country according to the United Soccer Coaches.
- The Toreros also moved up to No. 22 in the College Soccer News poll.
- Warne was named the WCC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time on Monday. Warne finished last week with a goal and two assists and recorded another assist against CBU on Wednesday.
- The Toreros lead the WCC and rank second in the nation in total points (51), while also ranking fourth in the NCAA in goals (16) and fifth in assists (19).
- In addition, the Toreros are sixth in the nation in goal differential (+11), 11th in assists per game (2.71) and 13th in points per game (7.29).
- Mason Tunbridge is 10th in the nation in assists with four and second in the WCC.
- The goalies have also been stellar, as Ludosan and Donovan Parisian have helped the Toreros lead the WCC and rank 22nd in the nation in shutout percentage (.571).
TORERO TIDBITS
- The Toreros are 7-4-1 all-time against current members of the WAC, including 2-0 this season.
- Tunbridge now has 27 points in his last 28 games, dating back to Nov. 5, 2021 against Pacific.
- San Diego is undefeated when scoring two or more goals and scoring first so far this season.
