SAN DIEGO – USD Women's Soccer fell, 3-1 at the hands of the Oregon State Beaver on Saturday afternoon at the home confines of Torero Stadium.
The Toreros goal came off the foot of graduate student
Katie Baxter, her first of the year. The unassisted tap in in the 73
rd minute after OSU had scored three unanswered broke the Beavers' two-game shutout streak but was not enough to spark a comeback.
The Toreros maintained possession in the offensive third and had the majority of chances in the first 15 minutes, but the Beavers would strike first and never look back.
Oregon State's Carly Carraher scored in the 20
th and 70
th minutes while McKenna Martinez found the back of the net in the 73
rd minute. 32 seconds after Martinez's goal, Baxter answered on the other end.
San Diego was outshot 11-17, 6-7 on frame. The Toreros move to 2-8-4, 0-4-1 in West Coast Conference play.
