SAN DIEGO — University of San Diego Athletics on Saturday morning announced a groundbreaking partnership with Baker Electric, a leading Southern California-based electrical contracting and renewable energy company. As part of this partnership, Baker Electric has secured the naming rights for the floor at the Jenny Craig Pavilion, home to the Toreros' basketball and volleyball teams. The on-court branding, which is the first of its kind at any USD Athletics venue, was officially installed on August 5, 2024.

"This partnership with Baker Electric marks a historic milestone for our university," said Kimya Massey, USD Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics. "Since its founding in 1938, Baker Electric has been a pillar of the San Diego community, and our collaboration with them represents a natural alignment between two organizations that are closely aligned in their dedication to leadership, community impact, and future growth.

Baker Electric's sponsorship of our department represents an exciting step forward for our programs, enhancing the in-venue experience for our fans while demonstrating the game-changing impact that strong community partnerships can have on building a strong future for our student-athletes."

The installation of the Baker Electric floor marks the largest sponsorship in USD Athletics history and comes on the heels of significant enhancements to the Jenny Craig Pavilion, including state-of-the-art audio, visual, and lighting upgrades.

Baker Electric will be honored this afternoon (October 19) with a special presentation between sets two and three of USD volleyball's match against Washington State at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
