SAN DIEGO – USD Women's Tennis found success on and off the court as it hosted the fourth annual San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic over the weekend, going undefeated in three hidden dual matches and simultaneously promoting a great cause.

Nadia Abdala said prior to the tournament. "Their service and dedication inspires us all, and we're proud to represent and compete in such a prestigious event."
The Toreros, limited to three players all weekend, kicked off day one on Friday, Oct. 4, tying the Naval Academy, 2-2. On Saturday, USD swept Fresno State 4-0 and almost concluded the tournament in the same fashion on Sunday, Oct. 6, but had one player retire early in a singles match.

Hannah Read went undefeated in singles play on the weekend. The two also combined to go 2-0 in doubles matches together
The Toreros will next set their sights on the ITA Southwest Regional Championships, also being hosted at the Hogan Tennis Center. The tournament taking place from Oct. 17- will be an ultra-competitive NCAA Individual Championships (Nov. 18-23) qualifying opportunity.
