SAN DIEGO – San Diego volleyball (16-8, 11-3 WCC) returns home this week for a Senior Night matchup versus Gonzaga (1-23, 0-14 WCC) in the Jenny Craig Pavilion before traveling up the California coast to take on San Francisco at War Memorial Gym.
The matchup against the Bulldogs will begin on Thursday at 7 p.m., followed by a clash with the Dons on Saturday at 1 p.m. Both of USD's matches this week will be streamed live on ESPN+, and live statistics will be available on USDToreros.com and USFDons.com.
LAST TIME OUT – SAN DIEGO BEATS OREGON STATE IN CORVALLIS
• A game-high 14 kills while hitting .308 from
Nemo Beach led San Diego to a 3-1 win over Oregon State (8-16, 6-7 WCC) on Saturday afternoon at Gill Coliseum.
• USD quickly bounced back from their set one loss and set the tone on offense and defense the rest of the afternoon as they out-hit OSU .322 to .149 and out-blocked the Beavers 14 to 6.
ALL-TIME SERIES VERSUS GONZAGA
• The Toreros are 64-9 against the Bulldogs all-time, with the two programs' last meeting coming this past September when USD swept Gonzaga in Spokane
• That evening, head coach
Jennifer Petrie earned her 500th career win and became one of just 18 active NCAA Division I volleyball head coaches with 500 or more wins.
• The Toreros have won each of the last 58 matchups between the two teams, and have swept the Bulldogs a total of 49 times in that span.
• The Zags' last win against the Toreros came on September 30th, 1994 in a 3-1 victory on their home court in Spokane.
Jennifer Petrie has never lost to Gonzaga in her 26-year tenure as San Diego's head coach.
ALL-TIME SERIES VERSUS SAN FRANCISCO
• The Toreros are 62-18 against the Dons all-time, with the two programs' last meeting coming in November of 2023, when USD swept USF at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
• The Toreros have won each of the last 18 matchups between the two teams, and have swept the Dons a total of 40 times since 1982.
MADI ALLEN NAMED WCC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
• Madi Allen has been named the WCC Defensive Player of the Week for November 18, 2024, the West Coast Conference announced on Monday afternoon.
• Allen, a redshirt senior libero from nearby Temecula, California, totaled 32 digs (4.57 digs per set) last week as USD won its matches at Portland and Oregon State.
• She started the week with 12 digs in a Thursday night sweep of the Pilots, then racked up a game-high 20 more digs as USD beat the Beavers by a 3-1 margin.
• Monday's recognition marks Allen's second WCC Defensive Player of the Week nod this season after also being selected on September 23. Dating back to her time at former WCC member institution BYU (2020-2021), she has earned five WCC Defensive Player of the Week awards in her career.
• In total, USD now owns nine weekly conference honors in 2024.
Haylee Stoner joined Allen as a WCC Defensive Player of the Week back on October 21,
Isabel Clark was named the WCC Offensive Player of the Week on November 11, and
Kennedy Osunsanmi (September 2, September 23 and October 21),
Kylie Munday (October 28), and Clark (November 11) have all taken home WCC Freshman of the Week awards at some point this season.

Kylie Munday currently leads the WCC in assists per set (9.31).
• She totaled 74 assists, 14 digs, five kills, and four block assists through both of USD's wins at Portland and Oregon State last week. Her 37 assists versus the Beavers last Saturday marked her 14th game this season with 35 or more assists.
• Munday was named WCC Freshman of the Week on October 28.
CLARK IS CRUSHING IT

Isabel Clark currently leads all Toreros in kills this season with 257.
• She totaled 21 kills, 15 digs, six total blocks (one solo, five assists), and five aces through both of USD's wins versus Portland and Oregon State. Her 11 kills versus the Beavers last Saturday marked her 15th game with 10 or more kills.
• Clark was named both the WCC Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week on November 11 .
TORERO TOUGH
• In addition to ranking first in team hitting percentage (.246), opponent blocks (1.79), and team blocks/set (2.57) in the WCC, San Diego holds two NCAA top-50 defensive rankings.
The Toreros currently rank:

• 37th in average opponent hitting percentage (.172)
