SAN DIEGO – The No. 14 San Diego men's tennis program (11-2, 1-0 WCC) earned their seventh win over a PAC-12 opponent this season, cruising past Utah (3-8, 0-0 PAC-12), 4-0, on Friday afternoon at the Hogan Tennis Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Featuring a new look lineup on day one of the Ed Collins Classic, it was the newcomers into the starting lineup who started the team on the right foot.
• Blake Kasday and Nikhil Niranjan were the first to create some space with an early break point and took their match, 6-3.
• Sacchitt Sharrma and Iiro Vasa were able to clinch the doubles point with a late break to give San Diego a 1-0 lead.
• Singles would feature more of the same from the new additions to the lineup, as Neo Niedner and Niranjan both jumped out to huge leads, while Stian Klaassen turned in a quick, 6-0, 6-0 victory.
• The Toreros would take all six opening sets, but in a play-to-clinch scenario, only three would be needed to finish.
• Klaassen's victory made it 2-0 and Niedner followed with a 6-1, 6-2 victory to extend the Torero lead to 3-0.
• Niranjan would be the one to secure the win, rolling to his first dual match victory of the season and his 10th overall this season with a 6-3, 6-1 win.

• The Toreros will continue play in the Ed Collins Spring Classic, hosting South Florida on Saturday at 2 p.m., at the Hogan Tennis Center.
